Chattonella ovata

Description: Flattened, ovoid cells that are yellow-brown in color.  They have a shallow depression at the anterior end and average 50-70 m long and 30-45 um wide.  Lack a posterior protrusion.  They contain numerous, elongated chloroplasts that are radially arranged and a single pyrenoid.  Considered by some to be C. marina var ovata
